The factors that determine the cost of injection molds!
Date:2023-10-09Views:1178In the current market, there may be different quotes for injection molds. So, what is the reason for the price difference? Let's take a look at what causes the difference in mold prices,
It's also convenient for everyone not to blindly believe that low prices are the fundamental basis for judging a set of injection molds!
1、 The cost of injection mold blanks
For the application of mold blanks, the material of the mold blanks is usually S45C or S50C, and the commonly used mold blanks are standard products. Domestic mold factories generally use LKM mold blanks, which are relatively inexpensive. But for products that are too large in size, exceeding
The size range of standard molds requires additional customization, usually requiring 2-3 times the size of standard molds.
2、 The material cost of the front and rear mold cores is determined by selecting different steel materials based on different injection molding materials and mold lifespan. Common plastic mold steels include: 718718H, S1368407, NAK80, P202083.
How to choose mold steel
(1) Related to the characteristics of plastic materials
PVC plastic, for example, produces corrosive acidic gases during production. If ordinary steel is used, the mold is prone to rusting. So it is necessary to choose corrosion-resistant steel, such as 2003, S136H, etc.
(2) Related to product requirements
Some transparent products with very high requirements, such as optical lenses and eyeglass lenses, require steel with excellent polishing properties, such as S136. If the wrong steel is selected, it will not achieve the desired effect when polishing the mold in the later stage.
(3) The lifespan of the mold is related to
Even for the same grade of steel, prices can vary. Of course, materials with higher prices have better quality. If the mold life does not need to be very long, cheaper steel can be chosen.
3、 The cost of hot runner (for plastic molds, not for die-casting and stamping molds)
4、 The cost of copper material (mainly used for electrical discharge machining or manufacturing components with special heat dissipation requirements)
5、 The cost of a sloping roof for rows
6、 Machine price cost, lathe processing cost.
7、 The cost of injection mold design is closely related to the design difficulty. Products with simple structures will naturally be cheaper, while those with complex structures and higher requirements will have higher mold costs.
8、 The management expenses of the factory include the labor of management personnel and the expenses required for other engineers to follow up on this project. The larger the scale of a factory, the higher the cost, and the smaller the factory, the lower the cost in this regard.
9、 Factory profits.
